This is the concept at the basis of the new Boscolo Hotel Exedra, a luxury five-star hotel recently opened in corso Matteotti, Milan, designed by Italo Rota. 154 rooms on 11 floors for a total 15,000 sq. m. surface. This new entry in the Boscolo group, a well- established Italian hotel chain, is meant to welcome guests from Milan and beyond. The hotel, nicknamed  urban hotel for this reason, is based on a new concept of hospitality. Restaurants, champagne bar, lambrusco bar, and lounge bar are open around the clock, also to non-residents. The intervention of Nord Light, implemented with architect Italo Rota for structural design and architect Marco Bisenzi for lighting design, consisted in creating the theatrical lighting of the main hall and of the near-by restaurant and bar lounges. The desired effect is achieved by means of a mixed LED System, including warm white (3000K), cold white (5000K), and blue ones, arranged in concentric circles to form the pattern of a daisy. The false ceiling of the area involved in our intervention is completely backlit with these light  daisies . An imposing domotic dimmering System allows to obtain a variety of effects by changing the light of the daisies (25 different schemes) according to the Customer s choice. The result is outstanding: one of the largest Systems in Europe, operated through 25kW of high-power LEDs, developed in just 3 months of the date of the order.
